The Crescent Moon LED Desk Lamp is a single curved metal arc, 42 centimetres wide and 20 high, with the LED running along its inner edge. Because the light comes from a line rather than a point, it spreads across a desk evenly instead of throwing one bright circle and leaving the corners dim. The shape does the work that a shade normally would.
Both brightness and colour temperature are adjustable from a push button on the body, which covers the useful range: cool and bright for detailed work, warm and low for reading before bed. The LED is flicker-free, which is the part that matters over a long session at a screen or a page, since flicker causes most of the eye strain people blame on brightness.
