Bauhaus is usually remembered for black, white and primary red, but colour was always part of the school's thinking, and a simple geometric form is exactly what carries a strong colour best. A dome has no detail to argue with the finish, so the shade becomes a clean block of tone hanging in the room rather than a decorated object competing for attention.
The shade is open at the bottom, which spreads light evenly outward and downward instead of confining it to a narrow beam. That makes it a better fit above a kitchen bench or a work table than a tightly focused pendant, since the light reaches the edges of the surface as well as the middle. Twenty colour and size combinations are offered across the range.
Iron with a glossy enamel finish gives the piece its depth of colour and keeps it wipeable, which matters over a kitchen bench where grease carries. The mini diameter suits rows of two or three above a bench. Clean it with a soft damp cloth and dry it immediately, avoid abrasives on the enamel, and have it installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated. Mixing two tones across a row of three reads as playful, while a single colour repeated reads as more formal and restrained.
