Tinted, ridged, hand-blown glass in a shallow 28 by 16 centimetre shade: the Mireta borrows its shape and colour from mid-century lighting and keeps the detailing modern enough not to look like a reproduction. Light passing through the tint comes out golden rather than white, which changes the character of a room more than a bulb swap ever will.
Hung over a dining table it puts a warm pool on the surface and leaves the rest of the room softer; over a bar or a hallway it works as a single point of colour. The ridges break the light at the edges of the shade, so the fitting reads as textured rather than smooth even from across a room. Cable height is adjustable at installation to suit the ceiling.
It runs on AC 220 to 230 volts and takes an LED source, and the shade is glass with refined metal detailing at the collar. Hand-blown glass varies very slightly in tint and thickness between pieces, which is normal and part of the appeal. Handle it by the collar during installation, clean with a dry cloth, and have it wired in by a qualified electrician with the circuit off at the board.
