Nordic Wooden Bird Wall Lamp

A small ceramic bird perched on the arm is the kind of detail that either works completely or not at all, and it works here because it is the only decorative element on the whole fitting. Everything else is plain: a straight timber arm, a wrought iron frame, and one object placed deliberately on it.

The materials underneath that detail are honest ones. Solid wood and wrought iron are both worked rather than moulded, and both age rather than degrade, so the fitting develops some character over years instead of simply wearing. Two finish options are offered across the range, each showing its own timber grain.

Output is soft and warm rather than directional, which suits a reading nook, a bedroom wall or a hallway corner where the fitting is as much decoration as illumination. Dust the ceramic and timber with a dry cloth, avoid knocking the bird when cleaning around it, keep polishes off the wood, and have it installed by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated. Mount it at roughly seated shoulder height so the bird is seen at close range rather than in silhouette from below. A warm low-wattage bulb suits both the timber and the ceramic, while a bright cool one flattens the whole composition.
