Aluminium alloy with an acrylic diffuser, finished matte, and no cord in use: this rechargeable table lamp is built for places where a power point is inconvenient or ugly. Restaurants use them on tables, but they work just as well on a bedside table, an office desk or an outdoor table on a summer evening where a plugged-in lamp is simply not an option.
The lamp head is the control. A tap moves through low, medium and high, and holding it gives stepless dimming, so the light can be set precisely rather than to whichever preset happens to be nearest. The output is warm and diffused through the acrylic, which is why it works as ambient light rather than as a task lamp you would read fine print under.
Charging is over USB-C, which means the same cable as most modern devices rather than a proprietary one. Aluminium keeps it light enough to move around and solid enough not to tip over easily. Charge it fully before first use, avoid storing it flat and empty for long periods, and wipe the body with a dry cloth. It is available in gold, silver and other finishes. A second one on the opposite side of a table balances the light nicely.
